240 bhp 2 litre Vauxhall Caterham 7 built on JPE chassis. Not a JPE but VERY similar specification. Apple ( bag ) green with coloured dials and can cover insert, carbon wings, nosecone, headlamp shells, dash and air filter backing plate.

1st owner JONATHAN PALMER in 1993. He specified JPE features as he was involved in the development of the JPE that went into the Guinness Book of Records as the worlds fastest accelerating production car, driven by Jonathan Palmer – of course !

2nd owner ANDY NOBLE of Caterham Cars when the car was first registered pre SVA in 1998

I am the 5th owner and carried out all of the engine rebuild, but here is the spec :

1998 Arch Motors, the chassis manufacturer for Caterham, jig checked the chassis for trueness and confirmed as JPE spec. Bead blasted, phosphate primed, powder coated, including body panelling before skinning, riveted body panels with steel rivets for strength & rigidity.

Wishbones and DeDion tube powder coated.

Special bonnet, fewer louvers for rigidity to suit ITG megaflow air filter.

2005 engine fully rebuilt – new camshafts converted to solid lifters with deep skirt bucket followers, duplex springs. Higher compression pistons, new Arrow steel rods, Titan recon dry sump scavenge oil pump, head work by Connaught Engineering ( previous ) SBD Brise high output compact alternator ( new ) with multiVee ( flat grooved ) pulley. New internal oil pressure pump with replacement internal gear pump, new water pump. Blue silicon hoses throughout.
I.e. rebuilt block and head with almost everything new and best of everything I could find !

Mapped and dyno’d by Steve Greenwald of Track’n’Road, graph available. DTA ecu. Jenvey throttle bodies with new Seimens injectors – good for 500+ bhp !

Fantastic performance to 6,000 rpm – lightening performance 6 – 8,500 rpm !

5 speed straight cut gearbox rebuilt by Quaife, ZF limited slip diff with modified ramps, AP Racing big brakes, large alloy radiator, new battery, original Jonathan Palmer Momo quick release steering wheel. Battery master switch.

Widetrack front suspension with new front and rear xxxx shock absorbers, adjustable platform and compression / rebound. S type seats ( rare ) Superlight classic wheels ( like minilight ) black centres, polished rims, 6 x 13 F / 7 x 13 R
High viz hood, sidedoors.

All this, like a new car, superb condition, for £ 25,000.00
